And of Clay We Are Created By: Isabelle Allende was an inspiring story of a man who was determined to save a young girl who is trapped in an avalanche of clay. While trying, he found out who he really was. The narrator was his life companion (most likely his wife.) She tells the story of how when her husband went to save Azucena he really found a part of himself lost 30 years before. Rolf (the husband) had a rough childhood with a father that beat him, and he made decisions that he regrets. Saving this girl brought up old memories of how in a way he was trapped as a child. Not in the same was as Azucena, but in a mental way. He tells the young girl that he loves her, even more than is wife. His wife then states that she would do anything to be that girl, stuck in the clay. I think that maybe they didn't have a good marriage and that she felt like he wasn't always there for her. Overall this story is of a man who finds who he truly is by helping a young girl in need.
I think this would make a good short story http://www.clickorlando.com/news/werewolfmasked-gunman-robs-forever-21-store-in-orlando/25250036?hpt=ju_bn1
