Half a Day by Naguib Mahfouz

Half  a Day by Mahfouz was a very deep story. It was the story of a boy who went to school for half a day, and somehow came out an old man. From his description, school wasn't a happy place for him. I think that is wasn't actually half a day, but maybe it was just an old man looking back on his childhood and his school life. His memories were very vivid. When he "woke up" from his memory everything was different. Things had changed, for the worst.
